Just A Thought..

Amber 468x60

I have always been a firm believer in the natural laws of the Universe and in particularly, the law of attraction.  So when I finally saw the movie  “The Secret”, I was seriously motivated to begin changing my life by changing my mind.  I started by taking the time to watch my thoughts and paying close attention to my beliefs.   I eventually realized that I was always expecting to be disappointed.

When disappointments occurred, immediately, the feeling seemed to be, “ahh there you go again”. I now had the revelation that I was not a winner because I did not feel like a winner.  I expected everything “for me” would be an uphill battle and that I would have to struggle and fight for every little reward I received in life.  This realization was a true awakening for me. It was the beginning of healing and of a new life.

Once I begin to expect different results, my thoughts changed and my total outlook on life changed. It certainly wasn’t overnight. I had to be determined and consistent but overtime, my life changed.  I was convinced that I would see a difference because I could see where I had created my current circumstances by always expecting to be disappointed.  I finally realized that we build or create our lives, one thought at a time.  Our thoughts become beliefs after consistently thinking the thought over and over.  It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not.  On the flip side, I begin to realize just how powerful and not powerless we are to create the life we desire.

So what are you expecting?

I can only imagine how many of us see the current weather changes and the happenings in the world as signs of the times.  Personally, for me, the worse thing I could do is live life like it’s coming to an end.  I’d rather look positively towards the future.  It really doesn’t matter if the world is coming to an end or not since there is nothing I can do about it.  Instead, I believe my time is better spent dreaming dreams of abundance, peace, happiness and joy.

For centuries now man has predicted the end of the world and the punishment of God as if it’s marked on the calendar.  I can remember as a young child and even as a teenager, living in total fear of this angry God who was waiting to judge me for my sins.  The older I became, the more I realized how long and how much of my life was lived in fear and how little life I had actually experienced.  It doesn’t really matter what religion you are or whether you believe in God or not.  What really matters is that we, the inhabitants of this earth continue to dream of a better day, what matters most is that we believe in and focus on the life we want to live; the experiences we want to have and not that which we do not want.

Living a life of fear or living a life of love is the difference between truly living and merely existing.  How do we convince our children and grandchildren to look ahead with great expectations for their future if we teach them to fear God’s wrath and the end of times?   If we are going to help the younger generations to prosper and move forward, we must help them to dream of a better day.  Not just in heaven but here… on Earth.  Now I know this is asking a bit much, but what could it hurt?  What could be so bad about having a positive outlook and giving our children a positive outlook on life?

It is so easy to get caught up in other people’s opinions about who we are, about life, love and all sorts of things.  The media has such a strong influence on many of us and how we feel and think; almost everything we say or do, rather it serves us or not.  If we are not careful, we will base every decision we make on outside influences forgetting the power of our own intuition and inner voice.  This can cause inner turmoil simply because we have deliberately chosen to deny our own intuition and desires and have decided what others think is more important.  This can lead to self doubt and other negative emotions causing one to feel uneasy about making any kind of decision about life.

We all know or have known a person who needs to get everyone’s advice about what they should do before making a decision.  This is proof of a person who has no connection to their inner voice and does not trust their own judgement.  When we learn to trust our inner voice, we make decisions not based out of fear but decisions based on our true desires.  The Universe always assist us with manifesting our true desires, simply because the Law of Attraction is always at work bringing forth that which we focus on.  When we do what feels right to us, we allow our inner voice to act as our barometer.  The more we yield to our inner voice, the more it will assist us in making decisions in life.

Yes, you will make mistakes or get it wrong sometimes, but that’s just a part of life.  If we never get it wrong, how do we ever get it right?  Mistakes are just experiences that teach us what we do and do not want.  When we begin to step out of our comfort zone and trust our own self, it becomes easier the next time.  Then we begin to realize that there is nothing in the world against us but that the Universe is bringing all the cooperative components of our desires together for our good.  peace&love…

As I watched the wonderful movie starring Julia Roberts – Eat, Pray, Love; I realized how wonderful it truly is to walk this journey called life.  It is the most amazing experience when we journey to discover ourselves and our true desires in life.  When we acknowledge that we belong to a greater source who loves us, we come to know that all is truly well with the world. And as Julia said, “God lives within me, as me.” It is not always an easy path to take but it’s reward is a place of peace and true freedom.  A peace that is cultivated with tender care and focus.

The desire to know one’s self is a truly amazing event that opens up a path before us.  When we are ready to take this path without fear and preconceived ideas; the beauty of life is discovered in a way that is very difficult to put into words.  At least for me it is.  I believe that there are often times we are unable to express this journey with words because we are still manifesting the understanding to ourselves.  I also  find myself remembering that each person must find enlightenment for themselves.  And that no amount of words can truly inspire someone who is not seeking to be enlightened.

The amazing thing is that once we ourselves align with our true self, those around us often notice the change in us and our path connects us with those we are able to inspire and can be inspired by.  It is great to know that life makes room for our expansion.

Isn’t it funny how we can get into a car, drive down the road, trusting that the road will be there to take us to our destination?  It is that same trust that we must have with life.  We must trust that the journey of life before us will support and guide us to our purpose and destiny in life.  I have learned to trust the love of my Creator  and I believe that He is with me to lovingly guide me as I  travel the path  of life.

Worrying or fretting about the future is completely futile and only exist as a distraction to pursuing purpose and destiny.  Instead, I must choose to be patient each and everyday with myself  and I must choose to live in the moment.  Learning to live life one day at a time is a true gift of wisdom.  I know that eventually my desires will manifest as I grow in healing and understanding.  My life is always moving in the direction of my purpose and my desired outcome because my desires are my guide.  Therefore, I choose to have peace with the road ahead.

Just A Thought… The importance of being kind to yourself

Isn’t it funny how you can know the right thing to do and still don’t do it.  How many times do I think, “boy I sure would love to be more disciplined with my yoga or more disciplined with meditation.”  I can only imagine how much my life will soar once I begin to consistently [...]

Just A Thought… Is Self Preservation Wrong in a Relationship?

I was watching “The Game” the other night, I love that show.  It was the episode when Melanie’s parents came to visit and they seemed to be more interested in Derwin than in Melanie.  They seem to have become great fans of their son-in-law who is now a star football player; which is quite a [...]

Just A Thought… Being Unique Inspires Innovation

Does being unique inspire innovation?  The freedom to be unique and/or different  is stagnant and unwelcome in much of our society.  So it seems..  We are all expected to be a carbon copy of the person next to us.  Society pressures us all to think alike, dress alike.  To like the same things, to dis-like [...]

Just a thought… Connecting with destiny

I believe in destiny.  I believe our destiny is what we choose for it to be.  Webster defines destiny as: a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or agency. There are many websites and authors who write about the Law of Attraction and so forth and so on…  I believe [...]
