As I journey through this life, I realize just how important emotional well being is to our quality of life. Carrying around emotional baggage can dominate the life experience by blocking our personal power. If we do not heal our emotions and keep them well, the negative emotions become a part of our identity and often the cause of more negative and unwanted experiences in life. If we are not practicing self care, we can find ourselves forgetting who we really are; only remembering the things that hurt us the most in life. This lack of personal power limits what we are able to believe is possible for us.
Your emotions are your energy vibrations flowing into the Universe. Emotional well being creates an environment of peace and prosperity. When we are positive in our emotions we attract more positive experiences in life. However, when we are negative in our emotions we create instead negative experiences. Our emotions are insight to what we are habitually thinking about or focusing on. When we understand that always feeling moody or angry effects everything in our lives from the people around us to our own personal peace and happiness, health and prosperity, we are then equipped with perfectly good reasons to improve our emotional wellness and deliberately choose better thoughts. For our thoughts create our reality.
Emotional well being is an important part of self care and allows us to heal our body-mind-soul and to maintain a healthy and positive outlook on life. This can be a challenge in the times we live in, however, it is important for creating positive change. Allowing emotional well being can help us to create a new beginning when a chapter in our lives is coming to an end. This can be a wonderful experience, giving us a brand new outlook and a fresh perspective. The excitement of reinventing one’s self can be exhilarating and fun since there are always new things for us to discover about ourselves and about life.

Emotional well being means regular spring cleaning of our inner house. Sometimes it means, out with the old and in with the new. Letting go of the past, ending unhealthy relationships, or removing from your life anything that might be holding you back or hindering your growth. Truly experiencing healing and emotional well being helps us to move on to better experiences. Healing old wounds allows us to align with new desires. Sometimes we can pretend to be over our past which is not the same as truly making peace with it. True healing takes tender loving self care and you will know the results by your ability to forgive and truly move on from a previously painful subject without negative emotions creeping in.
Emotional well being keeps us aligned with our purpose and connected to our desires. Allowing us to experience our best life possible.

When I first began writing this blog, I received such a mixed bag of emotions from the people in my life. There were those who did not approve and thought it was racist or exclusive because of the name and because my desire was to inspire and encourage young black females. Then there were those who didn’t feel like I had enough education… and therefore was not worthy of attempting such a task that was obviously over my head.. since after all, my poor grammar and lack of journalistic etiquette was totally inadequate. And lets not forget those who felt that I did not use enough bible quotes or that my posts were inappropriate because they were not biblical in nature. I found myself amazed at how easily an idea born purely out of wanting to express myself and possibly help to inspire and encourage others could be so negatively construed or so severely judged.
I now realize that often people can only understand their own experiences and point of view in life and sometimes have no desire to understand or accept the life experiences of others for fear that it might directly affect them. I now understand that my desire to be an inspiration and encouragement is simply a deep part of who I am and that I do not need approval from anyone but myself.
Several months ago, I took a much needed hiatus from posting on The Negro Queen. I had begun to feel as if the blog was a burden. Now I realize that was because I had lost sight of my intentions and desires for starting the blog. I now understand that those who are inspired by my words will love and appreciate what I have to say. These are the dear hearts that I write this blog for and not for them who do not. If I inspire only one or two people, for me, it is well worth the effort and for that I am grateful.
I appreciate that my desire to write for The Negro Queen has returned but with a new and fresh perspective. This time, I won’t put so much pressure on myself since it’s not possible to please everyone anyway. This time, I will allow myself to be inspired to write what comes naturally and I will do so from a heart of love. I will no longer worry about being politically correct but I will write from a place of passion and desire.. I want to thank those who have been sending support and positive vibrations my way. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments as I take the journey to discover the next level for The Negro Queen.
Happy New Year!!
